Learn More About Village Veterinary Care and Staff

Dr. Rice has been practicing at Village Veterinary Care since she graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She is originally from Mt. Vernon, Ohio but currently resides in Pataskala with her two children Mallory and James. Dr. Rice has two dogs, a few chickens, and also helps her children raise a few stock animals each year for the Hartford Fair. She like spending time outdoors, hunting, camping, working in that yard and skiing. She also enjoys spending time with friends, attending sporting events and traveling. Dr. Rice has owned Village Veterinary Care since 2007.

Dr. Rene Buell also graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a B.S. in Animal Science from 1989 when she attended West Virginia University. She has been a local resident for 8 years and joined us in 2008. She likes to garden, scrapbook and show beef cattle and Boer goats with her family.

Dr. Parrish graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. During veterinary school, she focused her studies primarily on livestock and production animal medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Parrish worked in mixed animal practice, honing her skills in surgery and emergency medicine for both large and small animals. In 2018, she “rejoined” the staff here at Village Veterinary Care—she was an assistant at VVC during high school all the way through to veterinary school! Dr. Parrish is currently providing care for animals both large and small, in the clinic and on the road.

Hi, My name is Shelly and I am a graduate of Columbus State Veterinary Technician program. I have been in veterinary medicine for 30 years. I live in Newark with my husband Tom and our 2 children. Our four legged kids include two cats, Blueberry and Biscut and a dog, Brownie. I am a huge Buckeye fan! Go Bucks! 

My name is Shelly and I am a cleaner here at Village Veterinary Care. I am a junior at C-Tec/Watkins. I have two cats and five horse. I also show rabbits in 4-H with the Dusty Riders. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and animals.

Hi, I’m Kim I 'm proud to call myself a team member at Village Veterinary Care and look forward to meeting each and every beloved pet that comes for a visit. I have been working in the veterinary field for 10 years. I have a wonderful husband and a 25 year old son. I have 5 Labrador Retrievers, 2 cats, and 9 chickens. In my free time I am either training dogs or competing with them in conformation and obedience. I enjoying traveling, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying time outdoors. 

Hi I am Mallory, I am Dr. Rice's daughter. I go to Watkins Middle School. I enjoy softball, golf, hunting and fishing. I have 2 dogs, chickens and have shown goats that the Hartford County Fair. This year I will be showing pigs. During the school breaks and summer I enjoy helping out in the clinic.

Hi I am James, I am Dr. Rice's son. I enjoying hunting, fishing, riding my quad and hanging out with Ted!
